| Do you only do small moves? | No, 'MiniMovers' means we move small distances. We have both small trucks and very big trucks for the largest of home or office moves. |
| Do you move interstate? Eg. from VIC to QLD or vice-versa? |
No. We move people from suburb to suburb, or just across town. |
| I don't need a truck, how much do the two men cost? | If a truck is not needed and you only need the two men to help you move, you can book our services by booking in our small truck for that day. As a result, the quote you get for the small truck is your quote for this special type of move. |
| I just want to move one item to the next room, how much will this cost? | There is a minimum 1 hour charge for all moves. If you get a quote for a few items, you will get the hourly rate for this type of move. |
| How long will the move take? | Our crews are experienced and will get in and move you as quickly and carefully as possible, but ultimately they can only deal with whatever you give them. If moving house (remember we can handle any size move) then most customers pack themselves and some have extra helpers. Extra advice on how to plan your move can be found at our Moving Hints page. The best way to ensure a fast, efficient move is to make sure you are organised and as ready as possible when we arrive – all loose items packed into boxes and accesses clear. You can further control the time the move takes by helping out as much or as little as you like - the more you do, the less time your move will take and consequently the more $ you will save. Packing boxes correctly can make a big difference too, so if you are packing yourself, please check our hints on how to pack the perfect box. |
| Do you dismantle things to move? | Yes, our movers will do any “handyman” type dismantling / reassembling needed. |
| Can I help move? | Of course! We strongly believe you should be free to control your cost. With MiniMovers, the more you do, the less we do, the less your move will cost. You can take this to any extreme. It's your choice if you wish to help or not. |
| What if it doesn’t fit in one trip? | Our trucks are the largest rigid body trucks that we can use in suburban streets. 90% of moves we can complete in one trip, however with special circumstances (property settlements) or if moving more than 20 minutes drive time from the pick-up address and the load exceeds a single load, we will do two trips or send a second truck. We do operate a fleet of large furniture pan tecs, so this is not usually a problem. |
| How much notice does MiniMovers need? | The MiniMovers system is very flexible. Often we can move someone with as little as a few hours notice. Of course, Murphy’s Law applies, so when you try to book at short notice we will be fully booked, so we suggest you book as soon as you know, where and when you need to move. 1 to 2 weeks would be fairly normal. |
| Is there a penalty for changing the move date once it's booked in? | No. There are no charges for changing the move date at any time. Please call us on 1300 882 440 as soon as you know your new move date, so that we may cancel your old booking. |
| How much notice will MiniMovers give us before arriving? | Our system will provide you with an arrival time between one time and another time. If you need a phone call 30 minutes before, you'll need to give us a call to arrange this. |
| How do I know they won’t stop on the way? | Our operators are very efficient. As a rule, they will either follow you, or you can follow them to the next address. This way, you will always know what they are doing. |
| Why do your arrival times have two times? | We used to tell customers that we would arrive at (say) 8 a.m. At 2 minutes past 8 a.m. many customers rang, concerned that we may not arrive (we have NEVER failed to do a job). We will not promise anything we can not deliver. We give you two times, between which we estimate we will arrive. 87% of the time we arrive near the first time but we cannot estimate the exact time the previous job will end. |
| What about when I need to meet you at an address? | We understand the dilemma of not having an “exact” arrival time. Where you need to meet us at an address that you would not normally be at i.e. when moving from a self storage, we can organize to call you up to 30 minutes before the move. You do need to advise our Sale Centre that you require this service. |
| What types of pool tables do you move? | We can move pool tables up to the 8' x 4' size. There is a once off surcharge of $120 for the heavy lifting involved with these items. Please tell us when booking that you have a pool table so we can send you a suitably qualified crew. | What types of pianos do you move? | We move upright pianos and baby grand pianos. There is a once off surcharge of $120 for the heavy lifting involved with these items. | Can I pick up the boxes and packing materials myself? | No. Sorry, we do not have a storefront available at this time. |
| Do you supply Boxes? | When you make a booking with us, you can take advantage of the “Oversupply” system. We send, direct to your door, all the materials you will need to pack yourself. You get more than you need, so you don’t run out, and you only pay for what you use (this is collected on the day of the move). And of course, we buy our boxes back when you are finished. |

| How does the hourly rate work? | We charge a 1 hour minimum and charge in 15 minute lots or part thereof after the first hour. |
| Do you discount your rates? | Fridays and Saturdays are very busy moving days. As an incentive to move mid-week we have lower rates Monday to Thursdays. |
| I have a cheaper rate | The cost of the move isn’t just what you are charged each hour. The true cost is that accrued at the end of the move. We are committed to moving you as quickly as possible. You also need to consider our reliability and our written guarantee of care that “if we damage it, we WILL fix it”. |
| Why do you charge Depot to Depot? | Fair Charging – MiniMovers services are charged to and from the most suitable depot for your move - usually between your pick up and drop off addresses. This is because we believe in paying our people fairly for the time they work whilst keeping your costs to a minimum. |
| How much is the Depot to Depot charge? | Our charge is based on the time it actually takes to get from the charging depot to your address, and the return trip is estimated based on distance and the time of day- all estimates are realistic. Also, the travel times are listed separately on your invoice, so we are upfront about our charges. |
| How do I pay my bill? | Payment will be taken at the completion of your move. If your move has already been completed, then please call us on 1300 882 440 and speak to our finance department. |
| Which cards to you accept? | For safety and convenience we no longer accept cash or Cheques. |

| Do you work on a Sunday or Public Holidays? | Yes, we operate 7 days/nights a week on every day of the year except ANZAC & Christmas Day. |
| What about storage? | Better security, the convenience of being able to access your goods, and the economy of storing close to your address together with lower costs, has resulted in a dramatic increase in “Self Storages” over recent years. They simply provide a better alternative. We move, they store - we are each experts at what we do. We will refer you to the closest facility that has adequate security and good service standards, please see our self storage directory. |
| Do you sub-contract? | No. We believe the best way to control the quality of our workmanship is to own our trucks and employ and train our own people. We are very opposed to making people “buy” their jobs and are the proud recipients of many employment & training Awards. |
| What if I have a problem with your Removalists? | Our greatest desire is to do an outstanding job. If you ever have a problem with any of our guys, give us a call at the office |
| Am I insured? | MiniMovers offers you a written Guarantee- “if we damage anything, we will fix it”. If you feel you need Insurance we suggest you contact an Insurance Broker. |

| Do you have a cancellation policy? | We ask that you give us 24 hours notice so we can stand down crews that would have otherwise been allocated to work. If you do not cancel your booking and our truck arrives, there is a standard 1 hour minimum charge fee that will apply. |
| I don’t have time to pack, can you pack for me? | We can supply a professional packer (or a team for large moves) to pack your belongings into boxes safely and securely. Whatever the MiniMovers packer packs, is also covered by the Guarantee, as long as we are moving it. Once again, you have the total freedom, and may want to pack your personal items and have MiniMovers pack your breakables only- the choice is yours. |
