Removalists Labrador

Many parts of Labrador have come a long way in recent years, and what was once one of the cheaper suburbs on the Gold Coast now commands some fairly reasonable prices for property. You will find a mixture of old and new, as well as a mixture of houses, units and gated complexes. An astute buyer can still pick up a good bargain in the area. A three-bedroom house sells for an average of $360,000 and rents for an average of $380 per week; a three-bedroom unit sells for an average of $300,000 and rents for an average of $410 per week. There are many units that face the Broadwater, with water views and access to walking and cycle paths.

While there are not a lot of restaurants in the suburb, there are enough to choose from for a night out. It is also relatively close to other suburbs with further dining choices for any time of the day. Labrador is also close to the Harbour Town shopping centre, as well as a small shopping centre with a supermarket. Residents have access to a number of bus lines, as well as being a short driving distance to the closest train station.

There is one state school in Labrador with other options available in nearby suburbs and it is a short drive to Griffith University and Southport and Ashmore TAFE campuses. As a suburb that is boarded by the Broadwater, there are fishing, walking, cycling and swimming opportunities and there is also a 24-hour gym in the suburb. There are also clubs for hockey, touch, AFL and squash. You can find a multitude of other sporting clubs in nearby suburbs.

Labrador has certainly had its share of a bad reputation in previous years, but as new buildings are completed, prices rise and development works happen around the area, issues are slowly becoming less and less. If you are after a Gold Coast suburb that is still reasonably affordable, have a look in Labrador – you might be mildly surprised.
